The Story of Horseville
Hi, my name is Janna, and I have loved horses since early childhood. Since owning a horse was never an option for me, I quickly fell in love with simulation games—especially those featuring horses!
I can't even count how many hours I spent creating the steed of my dreams in The Sims 2: Pets, and later playing various online SIM games. But there was always something missing—of course, nothing is perfect! Still, I longed to build something that would fix what I felt was lacking in other games.

That Was the Beginning of Horseville
If we don’t count my very first childish attempt to create a game using a blogging platform, the real beginning happened when I was around 14 and fell in love with computers. I soon realized programming was the key to bringing fantasy to reality, so I learned to code while developing VJK—Horseville's predecessor.
VJK was an equestrian online SIM game that entertained Czech and Slovak horse lovers for almost a decade. The game was entirely free and donation-based. For me, it was an incredible journey full of learning and discovery—whether in programming, management, or human relationships. As I grew older, graduated, and faced the demands of adult life, I realized I could no longer dedicate so much time and love to a project that simply couldn't pay the bills.

In late 2020, while on maternity leave, I realized it was time for something new. With a heavy heart, I shut down the game to focus fully on developing a new project—Horseville. With a pinch of naivety, I dove headfirst into a venture far larger than I had imagined. I thought my previous experience would be enough, but I couldn't have been more wrong! New ideas kept coming, and development took longer than expected as I had to keep learning along the way. It was totally worth it, but now it's time to give the project the final push.
Horseville Needs Your Help!
Besides my day job as a graphic designer and illustrator, I'm also a mom to an incredible but very time-demanding child. I’ve realized that if I want to finish Horseville, I need to cut down on client work and dedicate more time and energy to development. To make this possible, I truly need your support.
